What Are These Glad Tidings?

It is the gospel! No matter how incredible and amazing your news is it just doesn’t compare. The weather changes for the better. You get a promotion. A new baby joins your family. You get a new car or pay off your mortgage. NOPE! These things pale when we look to the saving grace of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and Resurrection!

Just think, an all-powerful, all-knowing, and perfect supernatural being allowed a part of Himself to be born as a human, to experience all things mortal, and to be arrested, mocked, beaten, and murdered so that He could bridge the gap between the broken and perverse condition of mankind and Himself!  What greater love is there? Is there a better hope? Accept Jesus into your heart and follow Him. He has an amazing plan for you! If He went as far as dying on the cross for you what task is enough to repay it?

Yet, it is a free gift! God’s great mercy is so strong and all encompassing that it includes grace as well! We deserve an eternity in hell. Yet, there is the mercy of salvation. We don’t deserve a single blessing, not even one but, manifold grace is ever upon the Saved!

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord , and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord , that he might be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1‭-‬3 KJV
