Each day that I find myself stumbling over my weaknesses I should NOT look down in abject disparity because that is what the Devil wants me to do! God has a better plan.
Hope and righteousness is built upon this. If it were not so then Christ would have forgone the cross and just given us the power to conquer the world. But, how would worldly power draw the fallen sinner to Jesus? Compassion and Sympathy are not normally drawn from a position of strength. Only God steadfastly gives this gift to people.
Mankind, left to its own devices, tends to covet and cling to power, property, and prestige. Even the best of us are plagued by our sin nature which manifests itself in greed and selfishness! So, we need Him all day every day! Reigning in our egos is a full-time job but, God is able if we relinquish the controls to Him.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
